Official Belgrade has prepared very powerful but limited measures to counter the tariffs imposed on Serbian goods by Pristina, President Aleksandar Vucic said on Friday after a meeting with Kosovo Serb officials.
We don’t want the measures to affect the Kosovo Serbs which is why they are limited but strong and we will not implement them before the meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Paris next month, he said.
“My job is to inform European representatives in Paris of Serbia’s response after nine months of anti-civilizational and unlawful tariffs, the “genocide resolution”, forming of a military and all possible activities against the Serb people,” Vucic said.
The president expressed concern over what he said are plans for operations by the Kosovo police special units FIT and ROSU. “We know that they have been placed on alert and are preparing to arrest dozens of Serbs in northern Kosovo,” he said and called the Quint countries and international community to prevent new Albanian provocation aimed at forcing the Serbs out.
Speaking about next Monday’s parliament session on Kosovo, Vucic said that the opposition has been demanding his presence in parliament for months so that they could attack him. He said that the opposition doesn’t want to attack him because they know he will disclose facts and figures about who helped the Kosovo Serbs and what happened in negotiations.
He said he would not reveal a plan for Kosovo but would report on what has happened to date and talk about what can be done, not reveal tactical moves.
