Serbia's Trade Minister Rasim Ljajic said, on Saturday, that Pristina would tighten their tariffs rather than abolish them.
„There is no real or tangible hope. Our optimism is based only on the expectations that the international community will finally put some pressure on Pristina, because the ball is no longer in our backyard, it does not depend on us, but only on Prishtina and those who called the meeting,“ Ljajic told the Radio Television of Serbia.
“Our position is clear – if the tarifs are abolished, we can continue the negotiations the next day,” he added.
Ljajic pointed out that Pristina’s behavior is the result of internal political relations in Kosovo, thair their elections are ever closed and that everyone is rushing to make new statements.
“Even those who suggested suspending the tariffs until negotiations continue, now say they have made a mistake and that taxes should remain in force,“ Ljajic said.
