Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Monday that there is a real possibility that the coming summit in Paris won't take place.

It is very probable or almost possible that the July 1 meeting won't take place because there is little chance that Pristina will revoke the tariffs on goods from Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina by then, he told a meeting of the National Convent on the European Union in the Serbian parliament.

He said that part of the international community had strengthened Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj's position by drawing attention away from the talks that President Hashim Thaci and EU High Representative Federica Mogherini took part in and by insisting only on the indepenence of Kosovo as a whole.

“We are at an impasse today. Haradinaj does not want to revoke the tariffs before he collects on his tough position at elections and no one else has the strength to avoid an election disaster. I doubt that we can expect that soon and I believe that it is very possible or almost probable that there will be no meeting in Paris. That brings added difficulties to everyone,” Vucic said, adding that Belgrade will go to Paris if invited.
