Five arrested over fruit exports to Russia

The police in the southern Serbian city of Nis have arrested five people on money laundering and other related charges for falsely declaring fruit exported to Russia as produced in Serbia.

A police statement said that the five people arrested organized the imports of nectarines and peaches from Greece through the Citrum and Coja Promet companies for export to Russia where the fruit was falsely declared as produced in Serbia.  

The exports brought Coja Promet an income of almost 105 million Dinars (1 Euro – 117 Dinars), the police statement said.
