Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó and Serbia's Minister of Mining and Energy Aleksandar Antic signed on Friday an agreement on building a gas pipeline as a part of the Turkish Stream, the Beta news agency reported.
Antic said the agreement would enable two gas pipelines, which were the extension of the Turkish Stream, to "meet on the border."
"In Serbia," Antic said after the signing ceremony in Budapest, "the works are going on in three phases, and the pipeline from the border with Bulgaria to the boundary with Hungary will be finished by mid-December this year."
The Hungarian Minister said his country's part would be over by the end of 2021.
Antic added the project was in line with all European Union's rules including the EU Third Energy Package.
