Serbian Energy Minister Aleksandar Antic said on Monday that power had been restored to households across Belgrade following the stormy weather and flooding that hit the city overnight.
He said that power stations had been flooded and added that teams of maintenance workers spent the night pumping out water and fixing the stations. A small number of consumers who get their power from privately-owned stations are without electricity, he said.
The minister said the power company maintenance teams would remain on alert and monitor the situation, adding that they are fully prepared to react quickly and efficiently.
