Despite earlier rain and thunderstorm, Belgraders continue Saturdays' #1 in 5 million evening protest this time outside the main University building to demonstrate against fake degrees which they say distort not only the image of the highest educational institution in the city but also the whole system of schooling, N1 reported.

Dragana Rakic, a vice-president of the opposition Democratic Party (DS), told the crowd they were the real elite since they were not afraid of raising their voice in a fight for the public good.

Serbia's President Aleksandar Vucic has written an article published by the pro-government Politika daily in which he described as 'false elite' all intellectuals, public figures and opposition politicians who criticised him.

"False elite are those who suck up to Aleksandar Vucic out of  their interest," she said adding Vucic "is afraid of the united opposition and is trying to split it, but that won't work out."

Rakic said that false diploma was available in all countries, but that "only in Vucic's Serbia one can become Interior Minister with it."

She referred to an affair with the faculty and PhD diplomas that Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic allegedly forged according to the opposition. He denied charges.

"There is no justice (in Serbia), that's why we are looking for it in the street," she added.

An N1 reporter said the protest organisers mailed an envelope addressed to Serbia's Government and Stefanovic with a 'diploma' and an inscription 'for Nebojsa from Belgrade' inside it.
