Average salaries rise in May, Serbian Statistics Office says

According to Statistics Office data, the average gross salary (including taxes and dues) stood at 76,511 Dinars.

The average net salary in May was higher by 9.9 percent nominally and by 7.5 percent in real terms compared to the same month of 2018. The average gross salary was 9.8 percent higher nominally and 7.2 percent in real terms.

Average net salaries rose in the January-May 2019 period by 9.9 percent nominally and 7.2 percent in real terms while average gross salaries rose by 9.7 percent nominally and 7 percent in real terms.

The median net salary for May 2019 stood at 42,319 Dinars which means that 50 percent of the workforce had salaries at that level.
