Serbian Internal Affairs Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic said that the president, government and parliament can revoke the classification of any secret document, adding that the point of President Aleksandar Vucic’s disclosure of classified documents was to show that he was under surveillance.
Commenting claims that Vucic did not have the right to disclose classified documents during an appearance on the TV Pink morning show on Thursday, Stefanovic said that the president revealed the contents of documents concerning him. “He disclosed information concerning him personally,” Stefanovic said and added that the other people he mentioned are either no in Serbia, do not hold public posts or had given him permission to disclose their names.
“The point is not that the president read out a classified document on TV but that he was under surveillance and being wire-tapped,” the minister said.
