Belgrade daily Blic reported that Bolton could visit the region late in August or early in September, adding that Washington would “launch an offensive to resolve the Kosovo problem and get the (Belgrade-Pristina) dialogue moving”. The newspaper quoted unnamed diplomatic sources who said that Bolton met in Washington recently with Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic and Tweeted later that they agreed that the dialogue has to move forward because neither side benefits from the status quo.
Dacic told the Voice of America after that meeting that “the US administration has realized that the problem is not in Belgrade but in Pristina” and added that new meetings with the authorities in Pristina could take place late in August.
Bolton has called Belgrade and Pristina to reach an agreement on several occassions. He is also the first US official to say in public that Washington is not excluding possible “territorial corrections”, the Voice of America said.
