US Ambassador Kyle Scott gave blood on Wednesday, responding to an appeal by the Serbian Blood Transfusion Institute.
“The embassy usually organizes a campaign on September 11 in memory of the victims of the terrorist attacks (in New York and Washington) and we will do that this year but when we heard that there was a shortage of blood we decided to give blood today as well,” the ambassador is reported to have said.
Scott said that he regularly donates blood, specifying that he has given blood six times since he came to Serbia in 2016.
The Beta news agency said that staff at the OSCE mission and the embassies of Germany, Israel, Italy and Slovenia also responded to the appeal.
