Pristina: Passports not needed for crossing over from Serbia

The Government of Kosovo has confirmed to N1 on Wednesday that, according to the Brussels 2013 Agreement, the passports have never been necessary for people crossing the administrative line.

After the news on Tuesday that several families from Serbia were sent back from the crossing because they carried only passports, Belgrade reacted angrily saying people from Serbia never needed passports to cross over to Kosovo.
But Marko Djuric, the head of Serbia’s Government Office for Kosovo, accused Pristina of mistreating several families with children from Serbia because they had only passports on them.
However, those who are in transit need the passports to cross Kosovo’s borders with North Macedonia and Albania, Djuric has added.
Eventually, both sides agreed the passports were not necessary and Pristina said the only documents passengers had to have were their ID and the birth certificate for children with their photos.
