Serbia’s Government adopts National Security and Defence strategies

 The agency carried a Government statement which described the National Security and Defence strategies as necessary to follow the changes in the region and adjust its security policy to protect the national interests in the best possible way.

The National Security Strategy determines the basic national interests and secures the safety of all its citizens, respecting general moral values, its statehood tradition, the rule of law, social justice, human and minority rights and freedoms, the economic progress and international cooperation.

The Defence Strategy, the statement says, is based on the Constitution and the National Security Strategy and directs the development of normative and organisational solutions within the system of defence, planning, financing and engagement of Serbia’s defence resources.

The Government also passed a draft on changes in the Information Safety Law to adjust it to the European Union Directive regarding the high safety level of network and information systems and to improve the existing legal regulations.
