The Serbian Government has removed a document on the decision to grant citizenship to former Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, who was convicted of corruption in her country, Danas reported on Saturday.

The document disappeared from the archive of the official website of the Serbian Government as the media became interested in this story. Other documents from the June 27 session are still available.

The decision to grant Shinawatra citizenship stated that the decision was made according to the first and third paragraphs of Article 19 of the Law on Citizenship. The decision, however, did not explain based on what state interests the Serbian passport was granted.

The Government did not give N1 a justification for such a decision by the state institutions, and President Aleksandar Vucic is the only government representative who commented on it, saying that he did not see that it represents any problem for Serbia, "especially if the government could see any kind of economic or any other benefit for our country.
