Red Star denies press pass to Belgrade daily Danas

The daily’s sports desk received an e-mail from the Red Star management saying that they could not be issued press passes because a large number of media had expressed interest in covering the game. In an online response to the refusal, Danas said that relations with the Red Star club had deteriorated over a historic story about the club’s 1946 championship title adding that the club allowed just one reporter to watch ensuing games from the press box.  

The newspaper covered the Red Star – Young Boys match with photographs and social media posts sent in by its readers from the stadium.
