Speaking for the organizer, Open Society Foundation Executive Director Milan Antonijevic said that voices had been raised during the part of the talks on the electoral rolls, adding that the participants showed readiness to continue talks.
“Voices were raised during the debate but that just shows that the participants want certain conclusions defined. Our message to the meeting participants is that there’s no dispute over the fact that the citizens of Serbia can express their will at elections in a free and democratic manner as confirmed by foreign observers,” Serbian Progressive Party MP Vladimir Orlic told reporters after the meeting. He added that the will exists to improve the election process if there is enough room to do that.
The meetings are being held under Chatham House rules which means that the participants can’t disclose details of what was discussed. The meetings are being boycotted by the opposition Alliance for Serbia (SzS).
