Party for Freedom and Justice deputy leader Marinika Tepic said at a conference that the privatisation of the ‘Vecernje Novosti’ newspaper was conducted in a suspicious way and that one of the ministers, who she would not name, is responsible for the paper’s connection with the ‘Srpski Telegraf’ and ‘Alo’ tabloids.
She said her party would file criminal charges against ten members of the Supervisory Board and the Executive Board of the ‘Borba’ printing company who contributed to the transfer of the ownership of Vecernje Novosti to the fictitious company ‘Media 026 Vucak’, which was added to the list of creditors a month before it was established.
The conference was interrupted by Vecernje Novosti journalist Elena Bozic, formerly the secretary general of the Serbian Radical Party, on several occasions. She said that Tepic's statements represent pressure on employees of Vecernje Novosti and that she does not feel safe.
