The Serbian police solved 92 percent of the 51 murders committed in the country by the end of August this year, the Internal Affairs Ministry (MUP) said on Monday.
The police solved 70 percent of the 62 murders committed in 2018, Belgrade daily Politika said.
According to MUP data, 47,324 acts of crime were registered in Serbia in the first eight months of the year which is seven percent lower in the same period of the previous year when 50,775 were registered.
According to this year’s data, 11,159 thefts and 704 robberies were reported and 3.2 tons of narcotics were seized which is 40 percent more than a year earlier.
