
The SBB company’s EON Smart Box won the CSI Best Customer Premise Technology award at the IBC2019 Media, Entertainment and Technology Show in Amsterdam.
A company statement expressed satisfaction that the award comes on the first anniversary of the introduction of the EON Smart Box and EON package in SBB’s offer. “This is official confirmation of new trends offering users a different way to watch television and a top-class TV experience.” it said, adding that more than 300,000 households in the Western Balkans region have chosen the EON package “because of the excellent user experience and phenomenal Giga network”. “More than 200,000 households have the EON Smart Box and the EON application is used on more than a million mobile devices and computers in the region,” the statement said.
SBB said that its “revolutionar EON Smart Box is in higher demand that all other set-top box devices because it turns every TV set into a Smart TV”. “It allows Internet searches, YouTube viewing, game playing on any TV set. Playback of programs up to seven days old on all channels means that no favorite content will be missed. It comes with a Bluetooth remote control which can be pointed anywhere and the channel, audio or any other command will be activated and it has voice search capability,” the statement said.
EON Smart Box allows the streaming of video content from mobile devices onto TV sets and is available to anyone anywhere in Serbia.
"It comes with a rich Video Club which has more than 16,000 attractive titles to be viewed on one and moved to any other device – smart TV, mobile phone, tablet or computer,” the company said.
It said that the Smart Box comes with the EON package whether the user is on the SBB network or not with any Internet access. “Viewing TV with one of the SBB EON packages grants access to more than 230 channels, including 68 in HD resolution, and TV channels with the most popular programs – Sport Klub (Premier league, Primera, Euroleague, NFL, Formula 1...), Nova S (locally-produced and imported series, talk shows, entertainment shows, matches played by the Serbian national football team), the N1 news channel, and kids’ shows on Pikaboo,” the statement said.
SBB is part of the United Group which includes N1 TV.
