The Serbian government’s Anti-Corruption Council on Thursday called Prime Minister Ana Brnabic’s cabinet to publish all contracts on public property which have been kept secret to date.

The Council also wants the government to publish any future contracts which do not need to be classified as secret, citing the justified interest of the public to know what is being done with public property.

A report on the lack of contract transparency published on the Council web site (www.antikorupcija-savet.gov.rs) said that the public in Serbia has not been given access to contracts and documents on the FIAT Kragujevac vehicle maker, Zelezara Smederevo steel plant, Air Serbia, Belgrade Waterfront, the concession for Belgrade’s Nikola Tesla airport, the sale of the Galenika pharmaceuticals maker, the Belgrade Agriculture Combine (PKB), government’s strategic partnership for the RTB Bor mining and smelting company, state-owned farm land and other public properties.
