Nasty weather hits Montenegro, closes roads

Most of the streets and ground floors of the houses across the country were flooded, and according to the available data, the worst situation was in Niksic in the West and in Herceg Novi, at the Adriatic Sea coast.

The firefighters said they had numerous calls from people stuck in the houses or cellars.

The traffic stopped wholly or partly along several roads due to flood and landslide.

Some cruisers gave up sailing into the port of Kotor in the Boka Kotorska seaside region of Montenegro due to adverse weather conditions.

That is the second time in several days that Montenegro was hit with such storm and two days ago most of the country was without power for hours.
