The US ambassador to Kosovo Phillip Kosnett said on Tuesday that the final agreement between Belgrade and Pristina should be accepted by peoples, not only a few politicians, the Koha Ditore daily reported.
The ambassador said the US had not actively advocated a substantial border change, but that Kosovo and Serbia could agree on demarcation as an option and a part of the final deal.
Kosnett said an agreement could be reached next year, but Pristina had to suspend the 100 percent import tariffs on Serbia’s goods, and Belgrade had to stop its campaign for the withdrawals of the recognition of Kosovo’s independence before it.
