Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic and the head of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) asked his supporters, the members of his party, on Thursday to stop organising rallies in his support across the country, the news agencies reported.
Vucic said he “had no idea” his supporters organised the gatherings.
„I’m endlessly grateful to them. They didn’t ask me nor did they inform me about that. But they show emotions and concern about the future,“ Vucic said.
„There is no need for that, no one can do me anything,“ Vucic said at a road opening ceremony.
He called on his supporters to stay in their “warm homes” and continue doing their job, while the victory would come in the elections.
According to him, no one can beat someone’s work.
As proof of his energy, Vucic told reporters what his Bulgarian friend said after seeing his tight schedule. “Are you a rocket, bro,” Vucic quoted the friend.
The rallies were organised in Nis, Vranje and Leskovac in the south, as well as in the central town of Krusevac.
