The Serbian Academy of Arts and Sciences (SANU) condemned the media attacks on its member Dusan Teodorovic saying that this was not a clash of political views but an attempt to deny his integrity.

Teodorovic was fiercely attacked in an open letter by Zeljko Mitrovic, the owner of the pro-regime TV Pink and a staunch supporter of the authorities. Mitrovic called Teodorovic “the stupidest and least talented person among the academy members” after Teodorovic called for the TV Pink building to be torn down.

“We suggest that everyone devote themselves to everyday competitions in decency which we fear is lacking more than intelligence at present,” a SANU statement said.
