
Movement of Free Citizens (PSG) leader Sergej Trifunovic told this week’s issue of NIN magazine that the Serbian authorities have decided to lower the vote threshold to enter parliament because they need an opposition of their own making.

He said that the efforts to lower the threshold to three percent of the vote instead of five is a test by President Aleksandar Vucic and his Serbian Progressive Party (SNS). “He needs an opposition and just as he is trying to create his own elite, the unfortunate man is trying to create an opposition,” Trifunovic said.
The decision to lower the threshold would just “cement” the PSG decision not to take part in the coming elections, he said.
