The mayor of Kragujevac did not show up for Tuesday’s meeting with journalists who wanted to discuss the situation in the local media, the Beta news agency reported.
The journalists waited for Mayor Radomir Nikolic (SNS) to show up at the recently opened Media Shelter. “We really expected the mayor to show up this time,” Res Publica Association spokeswoman Bojana Vlajovic Savic said adding that they wanted to discuss the fact that the Kragujevacke Novine magazine was not published for the first time last week.
Res Publica opened the Media Shelter last week to give journalists and media professionals a place to meet and debate.
Meeting organizers said they would not ask for a meeting with the Mayor in city hall.
