
Serbia loses more than 20,000 people to carcinomas every year and some 36,000 new cases of malignant diseases are diagnosed annually.
Among men, the most frequent forms of cancer are carcinoma of the lungs, colon and rectum and the prostate while among women the most frequent carcinomas are of the breast, colon and rectum, lungs and womb.
