Dacic: Serbia won’t allow abolishing of Republika Srpska

Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said on Tuesday that Serbia will not allow anyone to abolish the Republika Srpska (RS) entity in Bosnia-Herzegovina (BiH).

The Republika Srpska authorities have been fiercely disputing a BiH Constitutional Court ruling that all farm land is BiH property with Bosnian Serb political leaders saying the RS could secede.

“The Party of Democratic Action (SDA – the main Bosniak party) was formed on the policies of (the late war-time BiH President) Alija Izetbegovic as defined by him more than 40 years ago that an Islamic state can be formed one the Moslems have a majority. They now have a majority… This can all seem banal to you but let’s not turn out to be right later when they topple a trade center. Bin Laden had a Bosnian passport,” Dacic told the pro-government TV Prva.

The Foreign Minister said that the Dayton Agreement (which brought peace to Bosnia in the mid-1990s) is being revised. He said that BiH Presidency member Milorad Dodik’s words Goodbye BiH, Welcome RS-Exit at a session of the RS parliament are part of a political struggle.

“These are not just empty words but a clear message: “Continue this policy of endangering the equality of the Serb people and there will be trouble,” he said, recalling that the competencijes of the BiH Constitutional Court are only what is agreed by the two entities which does not include land and forests.
