The whistleblower informed Mayor Zoran Radojicic that Sanitation Department (JKP Gradska Cistoca) staff were being threatened with termination of contract if they fail to convince a certain number of people to vote for the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), Alliance for Serbia (SzS) Councilor Group chief Nikola Jovanovic told reporters.

“We are demanding the immediate resignation of the Sanitation Department CEO and we want Mayor Radojicic to take a stand on the case,” Jovanovic, deputy leader of the People’s Party, said.

Jovanovic said that it’s “shameful” that the authorities are using communal services companies as a mechanism to pressure and blackmail people. He added that the whistleblower did what he was supposed to do under the law and was fired in violation of the law.
