An Italian national who fled a quarantine in Croatia was located in a Lasta transport company bus on the Montenegro-Serbia border heading towards Belgrade from the coastal city of Kotor.
The Anadolia news agency reported that the man, who is from northern Italy, was banned from entering Serbia. The other 12 passengers and two drivers were taken to the town of Novi Pazar for medical checks. None of them exhibited any sign of coronavirus symptoms.
The head of the Public Health Department in Novi Pazar, Dr Shefadil Spahic said that the passengers were being monitored and were all well enough to continue their journey. They were all ordered to remain at home in self-isolation. The bus was driven to Belgrade where it was disinfected.
The Lasta company said earlier that it had discontinued its services to Switzerland and Italy because of the coronavirus pandemic.
