It said that the Serbian capital’s main pedestrian street – Knez Mihajlova – was almost empty as was the nearby market and city bus hub Zeleni Venac with buses leaving almost empty and at least one ticket inspector in front of every bus.

Market vendors said that sales had stopped completely after 9:00 am when the elderly went home.

There were no queues in front of the pharmacies in Knez Mihajlova and neighboring streets.
