Arrests, trials for 75 who violated self-isolation orders

The Serbian Justice Ministry said on Tuesday that 75 people had been arrested for violating self-isolation orders during the state of emergency imposed to combat the coronavirus pandemic.

Ministry State Secretary Radomir Ilic said that the ministry Penitentiaries Department has secured three facilities in Vrsac, Pozarevac and Pirot for the people who violated quarantine orders.

He said that most of the 75 arrested people would face criminal charges and trials under strict rules to prevent the infection from spreading.

The Justice Ministry has issued recommendations for proceedings against people who violate self-isolation orders and are charged with the crime of spreading infectious diseases.
