The 2020 Olympic Games scheduled in Tokyo for this summer will be held from July 23 to August 8, 2021, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Japanese Kyoto TV reported on Monday.

It added the term had to be harmonised with IOC, organisers, city and state institutions in Tokyo.

However, the name of the games will remain the same – Olympics Tokyo 2020.
