Serbian capital won’t grind to a standstill, city assembly chief says

Belgrade City Assembly Speaker Nikola Nikodijevic said the city authorities will adapt to the situation if the government decides to extend the curfew next weekend as well.

“That means that Belgrade residents can shop, go to pharmacies, post offices and the large markets have prepared well and know exactly how many people can be in their shops at any time,” he told TV Prva.  

He said that the city communal services are operating efficiently and doing thir job despite the state of emergency conditions. “If a pipe bursts or something else malfunctions, residents can call for help because the city hasn’t stopped,” he said.
