Serbia and its people hold their destiny in their own hands and they have no wish to manage the destinies of others, President Aleksandar Vucic said on Sunday as he laid wreaths at the memorial for the WWII Jasenovac concentration camp victims in the northwestern town Sremska Mitrovica.

Serbia is much stronger today than it was yesterday and it is strong enough to “extend a hand to everyone without a fear and without threats,” said Vucic adding that Serbia is the power that promotes peace in the region.

He said Serbia was aware of its history and its people in (Bosnia’s Serb-dominated region) Republika Srpska, Montenegro and many other countries in the region.

“And it has no pretension to anything that belongs to others, it doesn’t deal with territories and conquering, it has no wish to chase anyone away but at the same moment it has no intention to give up on what belongs to it while not jeopardising anyone else,” Vucic added.

Bosnian Serb leadership traditionally marked the anniversary in Donja Gradina on Sunday, in presence of Republika Srpska officials and foreign ambassadors in the country.
