Opposition in bicycle protest in northern Serbian city

SzS member party officials and members of the Vojvodina Assembly and city council gathered in the central Freedom Square to send the message that the public should send the authorities packing.

Democratic Party (DS) city council member Veljko Krstonosic told N1 that the protest was staged to show that the opposition is on the side of the people who followed the recommendations of experts during the state of emergency declared to combat the coronavirus pandemic but ended up second-rate citizens compared to members and followers of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) who can move around freely during the curfew.

Bicycles are one of the main forms of transportation for the population of both Novi Sad and all of Vojvodina which is flat.
