Nationalist supporters gathered in central Belgrade’s Republic Square on Friday, shouting slogans against both the authorities and opposition.
Several hundred people were addressed at the gathering only by its organizer, former Dveri MP Srdjan Nogo who said that politicians should sign statements to confirm what they advocate and to ensure that they don’t change their policies. He added that the protest was organized to demand the postponing of the elections scheduled for June 21 and the forming of a transitional government to secure equal conditions for the election campaign. Nogo called for the protest a day earlier, following the noise protest in front of the Serbian Presidency.
The crowd of several hundred ended the gathering with a protest march from Republic Square to the Serbian Parliament, shouting anti-regime and anti-migrant slogans and singing nationalist songs. The crowd booed loudly in front of the parliament building, shouting offensive slogans and calling MPs to come out of the building before moving to in front of the Serbian Presidency building.
