The United Group said on Monday that it had fulfilled its promise to provide medical equipment and a million Dollars in donations to the Serbian government to help tackle the coronavirus pandemic.

“The aid in medical equipment for health care centers in Serbia and donation in money worth a million Dollars has been fully delivered to the Serbian government. The United Group has met its promise to help the citizens of Serbia fight the coronavirus,” a press release said.  

“We hope that our donation has contributed to fighting COVID-19 along with the superhuman efforts by all the staff at medical institutions who saved lives,” it added. The United Group said that its SBB cable services provider company secured 570,000 Dollars, 250,000 face masked, 8,800 coronavirus tests, 440 thermometers and 7,000 sets of goggles. The final shipment was delivered with medical equipment being shipped all through April.

“Along with the million Dollar donation we also bought 221,500 masks for medical staff worth 67,000 Dollars which are due to arrive in mid-May and donated 600 litres of medicinal alcohol to the Clinical Center in Kragujevac,” the press release said.

“We regret to say that even thoughwe were among the first to order and pay for equipment for Serbia on March 15, that the United Group humanitarian effort was kept hidden from the public and ignored by state officials and media close to the authorities along with organized attacks aimed at denying our support to the citizens of Serbia,” it said.

“It’s evident that the authorities were fully aware of the aid that our company oprovided to Serbia but that officials misled the public nevertheless. We are convinced that the citizens of Serbia can recognize true solidarity by all individuals and companies which provided humanitarian aid. The United Group has donated more than three million Dollars in aid to the citizens of seven countries in the region to fight COVID-19. Besides Serbia, aid was provided to Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Bulgaria,” the press release said.
