After initially four PMs started a hunger strike on the Parliament stairs on Sunday, the supporters of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) came to the site, supporting President Aleksandar Vucic and two of the striking SNS MPs, while labelling the leader of the nationalist opposition Dveri movement Bosko Obradovic as fascist, N1 reported on Monday.

Several of Obradovic's friends, mostly from his native central town of Cacak, were on the other side, supporting him.

Later on, some other leaders of the largest opposition group Alliance for Serbia (SzS) whose member Dveri movement is, come to support Obradovic.

Still, the Gendarmerie stepped in to prevent any physical contact between them and many more SNS supporters who were said to have come in an organised manner.

The SNS crowd yelled 'Bosko a fascist,' and 'Aca (short for Aleksandar), a Serb.'

Dragan Djilas, the leader of the opposition Party of Freedom and Justice (SSP), the most targeted politician by the regime and its media, said "there was no logic in a protest by those in power. We are the opposition, we protest."

Obradovic got a Serbian flag and took it outside the Parliament building.

An independent MP Miladin Sevralicwas the first who declared the hunger strike on Sunday saying the Parliament ignored his demand to discuss Belgrade's policy on Kosovo.

He was soon joined by Obradovic, who supported him, but added his protest was also against the country's general elections called for June 21.

An hour later, two SNS MPs Aleksandar Martinovic and Sandra Bozic took out two chairs from the Parliament and set on them far away from Obradovic. They protest against the lack of prosecutors' reaction to Obradovic's "attack" on their colleague Marjan Risticevic last Friday.

Earlier on Monday, Sevarlicstooped the strike, saying it did not have a sense after the media focused on SNS MPs and Obradovic.

Later on Monday, the Interior Ministry arrested a man who was filmed while hitting a woman during the gathering.
