The Public Health Department in the town of Pancevo said on Monday that coronavirus tests will cost 8,225 Dinars and would be paid by anyone who does not have full national medical insurance.

The price is higher than the 6,000 Dinars that was the original estimate for the tests and will cover taking samples, the test itself and the issuing of a certificate saying whether the sample was positive or not. Only people who do not display symptoms (fever or a cough) will be tested, the department’s web site said.

Anyone who asks to be tested and does not meet the criteria set by the national health service will have to pay for the test as will people coming into or leaving the country. The tests will be free of charge for Serbian minors traveling abroad, students and Serbian national minority students who are nationals of neighboring countries.
