Serbian Internal Affairs Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic told members of the OSCE ODIHR observer mission that he is satisfied that they are going to monitor the June 21 elections and the process following the vote, a government press release said on Thursday.
Stefanovic heads the government working group for election conditions.
“The government approach to the election process is comprehensive and cooperation has been achieved with all relevant players, NGOs and everyone participating in the election process,” Stefanovic is quoted as saying.
The minister added that the government is open to cooperation to resolve the possible shortcomings with the election laws.
ODIHR observer mission chief Urszula Gacek is quoted as welcoming Serbia’s constructive approach to the election process. She said that the important thing is to prevent the process from endangering lives because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The press release also quoted her as saying that the forming of the working group to promote the election process and continue working after the vote.
