US President Donald Trump's special envoy for Kosovo Richard Grenell said on Monday that officials from Belgrade and Pristina will meet in Washington on June 27 after receiving assurances from both sides they would stop campaigns against each other.
He wrote on his Twitter account that the Serbian government has agreed to stop its campaign to revoke recognition of Kosovo and the authorities in Pristina have agreed to stop their campaign to win membership in international organisations.
He added that the focus should be on the economy.

Soon after him, Kosovo's President Hashim Thaci also published a tweet, greeting the call for the resumption of talks.

Late on Monday, Dinka Zivalj, a European Union spokesperson in Pristina, did not want to comment on Grenell's tweet.
"We don't comment the activities of others," Radio Free Europe (RFS) quoted her as saying.
Zivalj said that the EU Special Envoy for the dialogue Miroslav Lajčák "would arrive in Pristina tomorrow (on Tuesday) to talk about the modalities," and that he "has the date for the resumption of the talks facilitated by the bloc."

Lajčák was due in Pristina on Monday, but his flight was suspended, but on Tuesday he tweeted he would fly on board of a Swiss military plane.
Recent reports say he will come to Belgarde a day after the general elections due on June 21.
In his tweet on Tuesday, Karl Bilt, Co-Chair European Council on Foreign Relations, suggested a European dissatisfaction with what he said was Belgrade and Pristina prioritising the relations with the US over the EU.
