Vienna appeals court rules in favor of United Media’s Grand Production

The Grand Production is owned by United Media. GSS Media operates as part of the GP4YU platform which is majority-owned by Telekom Serbia. GSS Media offers TV channels from the countries of the Western Balkans including TV Prva which airs Grand Production shows.  

GSS Media refused every request to black out Grand content and was sued at the Economic Court in Vienna in 2018 and 2019 with the court ruling in favor of Grand Production in 2019. The court ruled that GSS Media was in violation of the exclusive rights of Grand Production and ordered it to release financial data so that compensation for damages could be awarded. GSS appealed and continued airing Grand Production shows.  

The court fined GSS for failing to produce its financial records and continuing the rebroadcasting Grand Production shows.
