
Aleksandar Vucic, Serbia's President and the leader of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) he would like that his party, which run under his name, won 1.7 or 1.8 million votes in Sunday's general elections, the Beta news agency reported.
"After almost eight years in power, with such a fierce campaign by the tycoons' media and many others, then it is an unbelievable success which can only make you proud," Vucic told reporters in Belgrade.
He added he was 'very satisfied' with no severe irregularities and with the elections which were going on, as he put it, 'in a democratic atmosphere.'
Vucic said he would talk about further plans after the election results were known, since "people haven't authorised me yet." He added that the turnout in Kosovo was the best so far.
