Belgrade opposition official from the Alliance for Serbia (SzS) which boycotted the Sunday’s elections at all levels, Nikola Jovanovic, told N1 that the boycott in the capital was massive and that the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) led City’s authorities lost legitimacy.

Jovanovic said he believed that not more than 42 percent of people voted in Serbia, while in Belgrade the turnout was some 35 percent.

According to him, people’s message was that they “do not want to be like Belarus and that the system must change.”

Jovanovic said his People’s Party would discuss with other SzS members the next steps in their political activities.
