Despite a sharp rise in new cases of the coronavirus infection, Serbia's Electoral Commission (RIK) confirmed that due to irregularities, the June 21vote should be held again at 234 polling stations across the country.

That's the reason why RIK hasn't published final results, though the legal deadline was last Thursday evening since over 200,000 people are due to cast a ballot on Wednesday.
The RIK president Vladimir Dimitrijevic has said that on July 1 from 7 am to 8 pm, adding the Commission will form new election boards on those polling stations.
The CRTA NGO reportedserious irregularities at eight to ten percent of over 8,000 polling stations, but RIK rejectedall those complaints, as well as by other observers and individuals.
CRTA had said that the June 21 elections had been the worst since 2016 when it started monitoring the ballot in Serbia, with twice more irregularities and incidents than four years ago.
CRTA has added the irregularities focused on artificially boosting the turnout and that without it, it would have been four percent less, at about 45 percent, instead of 49 percent as the NGO's results showed.
The official data put the turnout at 50.32 percent.
The irregularities reported by CRTA's observers include: buying votes, pressure on voters outside the polling stations, taking photos of the ballots, parallel registration of the voters, multiple voting by a single person and voting without control of the IDs.
Parties gathered under Alliance for Serbia (SzS) opposition umbrella group boycotted the June 21 elections and called on their supporters not to vote on Wednesday.
The re-vote is expected in the only opposition-held town of Sabac in western Serbia, where the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) declared a sweeping victory, but local electoral commission annulled elections at all polling stations, after reports about serious irregularities.
A court is expected to rule on whether new voting will be held after SNS appealed the local commission decision.
