The European Union intends to continue the Belgrade – Pristina dialogue on the normalisation of relations, but Kosovo's President Hashim is not planned as an interlocutor, Radio Free Europe (RFE) reported on Wednesday.

The Specialised Prosecutors Office for Kosovoannounced it finished the indictment against Thaci and several more Kosovoras for war crimes and crimes against humanity, had led Pristina delegations in talks with Belgrade for a decade.

He resumed in the office, saying on Tuesday he would resign if the pre-trial judge confirmed the charges. The dateline for the ruling is up to four months.

However, the EU officials said that due to the Prosecutors' announcement, they did not see Thaci as a partner in the dialogue.

"We have said between the lines that it would be better for Thaci to focus on the indictment and that until the issue is solved, there would be very little interaction from the EU," an official told RFE.

The bloc said it expected Pristina to remain committed to the dialogue regardless who would lead it on behalf of Kosovo.

"It's not up to the EU to choose the interlocutors, it's up to Kosovo to decide who will represent its interests the best," Virginia Batu-Henrikso, an EU spokesperson, said.
