Serbia’s voters cast ballots again at 234 polling stations, fewer observers

The elections watchdogs CRTA and CeSid said they would not monitor the voting amid the worsening coronavirus epidemic in the country in the last weeks.

The polling stations were opened at 7 am and close at 8 pm, and 203,012 people were eligible to vote again, after the Republic’s Electoral Commission (RIK) annulled the results for June 21 due to “logical and mathematical errors” in the works of the electoral boards at the polling stations.

In the meantime, the Commission rejected many objections by independent observers and individuals.

RIK has not published the final results ahead of the repeated ballot.

According to the preliminary count from 97.23 percent of the votes, President Aleksandar Vucic’s list won 60.68 percent, or 1,917,421 votes and 189 out of 250 sets in the country’s Parliament.
