Vojvodina Clinical Center condemns doctor’s racism

Dr Milena Scekic was recorded making racist remarks and insulting a black student at the Novi Sad University School of Medicine. The video was posted on social media.

“In regard to the unpleasant event which took place outside the KCV but which involved a doctor working at this health care institution, the KCV states that her behavior and manner of communication was unacceptable and sharply condemns it,” Belgrade daily Blic said it was told by the KCV.  

The unnamed spokesperson said that the KCV, as the doctor’s employer, will inform the Doctors’ Chamber so that it can look into the behavior of the doctor and whether she can continue in the medical profession.  

Dr Scekic could be suspended or even lose her licence to practice medicine, Blic said.
