Forty-six patients have died since April through July 2 at the general hospital in Novi Pazar, southwestern Serbia, according to Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Minister Rasim Ljajic.
Speaking to Prva TV, Ljajic said it was “horrible that those who died are today mentioned as numbers” because of misinformation that emerged over the past few days.
He urged everyone to put aside the political battles and stop spreading false information, which needs to be denied every now and then.
“Head of the hospital is presenting data on daily basis, there’s no need for someone to hide the number of those who died, and I cannot understand what would be a motive for that,” said the minister and called for solidarity.
